Varsity Blues

An entertaining look at the politics of the all-too-important world of high school sports in small town America. The mostly teen cast, led by "Dawson's Creek's" James Van Der Beek, is complemented by veteran actor Jon Voight, who plays the football coach. Teens will like this movie for its young actors and actresses, killer football scenes and hip soundtrack. Parents will like it for its -- surprise -- old-fashioned values. Yes, despite an strong "R" rating for numerous scenes featuring nudity, language and underage drinking, there's actually quite a big helping of morality. Parents with kids in high school sports will especially be able to relate to the interaction between parents, players and coach.

A Very Brady Sequel

A more mean-spirited parody than the first movie with less genuine laughs. But it does have more dance numbers than the original ...
