Internet Broadcasting (IB), located in St. Paul, seeks an experienced attorney to serve as Corporate Counsel. IB is the leading provider of web sites, content and advertising revenue solutions to the largest and most successful media companies in the world. This key position includes responsibilities such as:
- Preparing, facilitating and negotiating concise customer and business contracts, with a “customer first” approach, resulting in a mutual win-win for IB and its customers.
- Acting as a business partner to functional groups, including sales, operations, marketing, and all other business functions. Advising and influencing are key attributes needed.
- Overseeing legal compliance and ensuring IB is up to date on existing and new regulations and legal practices. Reasonable risk mitigation is a goal.
- Managing the company’s insurance plans for appropriate protection and cost-effectiveness.
- Assisting the CEO in maintaining strong, productive relationships with the company’s major investors (who are also customers).
The successful candidate will have qualifications that include the following:
- JD/law degree, 7-10 years of legal experience, and license to practice in MN. Other state licenses helpful.
- Must have industry background in one or more of the following: technology, internet, media, professional services. Ability to quickly grasp and understand terms and practices of internet media business is fundamental.
- Experience in an entrepreneurial environment, with high adaptability and a strong sense of urgency.
- A strong “customer first” orientation in approach to the job.
