Content Producer – nights and weekends

Internet Broadcasting is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to be part of the Cox Team at our headquarters location in Saint Paul, MN.

Job Summary:

This position will write, produce and edit news/feature and other content as assigned for Cox Television sites. This job also includes producing video, creating slideshows and generating live streams for local station use or for coverage of national news.

Essential Functions:

Serve as an editor on selected nights and weekends for Cox Television web sites operated by Cox Television.
Gather and compile online news from a variety of outlets – including TV stations, the Internet, AP wire and traditional news sources – for publication to the Cox Television Web sites.
Deliver breaking news quickly and accurately, and in accordance with AP style.
Produce video, audio and images on an as needed basis for publication to the Web.
Bring consistent sense of urgency to web content.
Set-up communication plan and maintain communications between Cox Television Hub team in MN and each of the TV stations newsrooms to establish smooth, on-going dialogue between the groups.
Work with content operations manager to formulate and execute on overall content strategy.

Qualifications & Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) Required:

4-year college degree in journalism or a communication-related field.
2 years experience writing for a newspaper or television station or related field.
Complete knowledge of AP Style
Working knowlegde of computers and the Internet and experience with basic programs, such as word processing, e-mail software and Web browsers.
