Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade clarified comments that he was seeking to be paid to play in the Summer Olympics in London.

Wade, who was quoted Wednesday as saying that he believes players "should be compensated" for the demands of being an Olympian, said he was responding to a question and never said he wanted to be paid to play.

In a series of posting on his Twitter account, Wade said he was referencing a complicated issue of how athletes are not part of the business side of the Olympics.

He went on to say that playing for his country motivates him more than any monetary amount and looks forward to representing Team USA for the third time in his career.
