Two-time Super Bowl winner Bill Parcells will remain retired and not coach the New Orleans Saints for the upcoming season, according to ESPN.

The 70-year-old reportedly informed Saints head coach Sean Payton in recent days he doesn't want to return to the sidelines.

Parcells was asked to serve as a one-year replacement in Payton's absence.

The NFL rejected Payton's appeal of his one-year ban Monday for his involvement in the bounty scandal.

Parcells owns a career coaching record of 172-130-1 and his most recent NFL job was as a front office executive with the Miami Dolphins from 2008-10.
