With their goaltending an issue heading into the postseason, the Washington Capitals recalled Dany Sabourin from Hershey of the American Hockey League on Monday.

Fellow netminder Michal Neuvirth was able to skate for approximately 15 minutes on Monday morning, although he "didn't look all that comfortable on the ice," the Washington Post reported.

Neuvirth suffered a lower body injury during Thursday's win over the Southeast Division champion Florida Panthers.

Sabourin will serve as the backup to Braden Holtby, who will be in net for the team's Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against the reigning Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins.

The 31-year-old Sabourin posted an 18-12-5 mark with a 2.76 goals-against average for the Bears this season.
