Quality Control Manager- Saint Paul, MN- Req #070-08

Summary

Provide leadership for the Quality Control Initiative for an industry leading Internet content and service provider who is currently revamping their QA/QC methods, infrastructure and processes.

Champion the QC Department and drive the spread of industry best practices for QC throughout the enterprise.

Provide subject matter expertise and program management control of the Quality Control Program.

QC Program Vision

Institute a series of environments; supported by Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) best practices, to ensure only high quality, stable code reaches the production environment.

Integrate the use of these environments into the ‘software-development-culture’ at IBSYS with the intent to clarify, standardize and speed the software development process.

Replace the current reliance on Production data in the software development process by establishing a ‘purpose built’ test data repository and comprehensive test cases.

QC Program Goals

Define and Implement QA/QC best practices for all software development projects.

Stabilize the code-base and data structures.

Retain flexibility and nimbleness of process to reduce time to market of software products and content.

Provide a development environment that encourages and supports the adaptation of Agile Methodology, including Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, as well as Defect driven testing for problem management.

Provide regression testing capabilities for the critical path functions of all business critical applications.

Reduce redundant efforts and workload on executing repeatable tasks and testing activities by the use of process automation and tools.

Qualifications and Requirements

Sound understanding of QA/QC IT industry best practices is essential.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to executives, piers, and subordinates is necessary.

Previous experience with QA/QC working in a similar dynamic, fast moving web development environment is ideal.

Previous Program/Project Management experience is an advantage.

Experience working with web publication and/or content management, service providers such as Akamai and Gomez, and the ITIL framework is an advantage.
